The Roaring and Ruling of NC in J&K

Manifestation works. It became even more relatable after the revival of Omar Abdullah’s Twitter post saying “I’ll be back” and exactly that happened within a decade.

The National Conference led the alliance party with its extraordinary performance, securing 49 out of 90 seats and taking over the charge in the decade-long state assembly election held in Jammu and Kashmir. This electoral victory also deserves the recognition of the BJP government, as it was the first election held after abrogating Article 370 from the state which was a boiling and sensational topic for all the political leaders.

This election has also shown voter engagement and enthusiasm with a total of 63.88% turnout but slightly lower than the last time which was 65.91%.

BJP’s notable performance in multiple dimensions and its vision for future Jammu whether it is for restoration of statehood, security, infrastructure, farming, or empowerment was not able to turn the voters in its favor winning twenty-nine seats that too only from Jammu.

The defeat brought a slight shame to the BJP state unit leader who expressed his excessive confidence stating “This time BJP government will take the leadership by acquiring 90 out of seats”. This statement brought a dismal to the party as it wasn't able to cover the hallway.

This election also witnessed the improved performance of the NC in contrast with the election held in the year 2014. Whereas, the winning party needs to focus more now on its administration including new policies for the betterment and public order after completion of their joyous victory celebration.

Choosing the leader always remains a crucial and impactful matter for the voters of it’s nation but maintaining peace and tranquility throughout the electoral procedure is also noteworthy and was even praised by Prime Minister Modi at a conference.
